Photometric – Coefficients of retro reflectance.
(While typical values are much higher, the following
are the minimum values.)

After accelerated aging 1000 hrs
a minimum 65% of values in Table 1 is maintained (Orange
500 hrs.).
2. Color – Measured with Federal
Specification FP – 85. Section 718.01 (a) or ASTM
D4956 or BS 873 Part 6 (Table 1).

3. Adhesives – Pressure sensitive is the standard
adhesive which conforms to Class 1 requirements and
is designed to high speed production of traffic signs
using mechanical squeeze roll applicators, at temperatures
over 65F (18C) .
4. Gloss – Not less than 50 – ASTM D523
using an 85 gloss meter.
5. Thickness – Not more than .012 inches without
liner.
6. Flexibility – LS – 300C – No evidence
of cracking, peeling or delamination.
7. Shrinkage – not greater than 1/32” in
10 min. nor 1/8” in 24 hrs.
8. Solvent resistance – LS – 300C (3.6.2)
passes all tests.
9. Accelerated aging –
ASTM G23, Type E or E11 1000- Passed 65% + minimum coefficient
of retro reflection. (RA). After 2000 hrs not less than
50% of reflectivity values specified.
10. Tensile Strength – Shall be not less than
10 pounds per inch or width or more than 15
pounds per inch of width.
